My new obsession

I have found my newest obsession.... APPLIQUES!! I have been seeing alot of great ones lately and I wanted to try my hand at it. I found some super easy to use webbing and Volia! I would really love to put an applique on everything in the house but Josh said no :(
I really love the single letters but I can do anything. I am working on some designs for boys since I dont have anything for them.

I also made this travel wipe case with Maddies initials appliqued :) on it. I am not happy with the trim but it is all I had in a pinch. I will have more of these available soon.

A side note.... I found out today that my best friend from college lost her dad on Sunday. Please keep her and their family in your thoughts and prayers.

Check out the Business Pulse of the Standard

There is a new store opening in McMinnville, Karen Moore, Mellissa Taylor and Paula Hammel are opening ETC on October 5. They have graciously allowed me to sell my dresses in their store! Grab a copy of the Standard and turn to the Business section. James Clark featured them in todays paper! There is also a pic of some of my dresses!!! I am soooo excited. I hope this exposure will generate some business for me (fingers crossed)!
I am so thankful that Karen and the girls are giving me this opportunity. They will be at the Autumn Street Fair with a sampling of what they offer.

They are located at 312 E Main St. Directly across from the Fire Dpt. Their hours are: Open everyday 10 until 6 or so...We will be closed on Sunday and Thursday. And open half day on Saturday

Check out their blog... http://www.designherbags.blogspot.com/

Playing Catch-up

I wanted to post some of the things that I have made recently since I havent posted any creations in a while. I am working on a few more things right now and I want to do a giveaway soon! I am still deciding what I want to do for the giveaway but check back very soon to see what I come up with!

I made this for Madison out of some leftover fabric and a Onesie that was too short. The skirt reminds me of ice cream :) It looks so cute on her, I call it Prarie Chic :)

The fabric for this dress is a super soft corduroy. I love the color combo on this one!

I am so excited about this dress! This is Maddie's Birthday Dress!! I am going to have her name and a Mickey Mouse Applique put on it and pair it with leggings and a turtleneck since her birthday theme is Mickey Mouse!
I am going to more of these dresses and make them reversable, Maybe a Christmas and New Years dress for Maddie.

I love this polka dot and stripe print! It is also all of my favorite colors. Would it be weird it I made myself one of these?...... Probably.

Thank You Corey Morris!

If you haven't noticed my blog is completely different! My wonderfully talented cousin Corey created my new and very much improved blog. He also created a button for me since I am terrible when it comes to anything technology related. THANKS COREY!! I loveeee my new site and I hope everyone (the few who actually read it) does too!

Not much accomplished in the way of sewing this weekend, I am working on a VOLS dress for Maddie and starting a few projects soon. This has been Football Weekend, Maddie watched her first VOLS game on Saturday and of course we had to take a few pics :)

Its Fall at our house but... Its no FAIR

We have spent the past few days decorating our house for the Fall since the weather has been sooooo nice. There is nothing that shows the wonders of God more than the leaves changing in Tennessee. I am sad that Madison won't get to play in a big pile of leaves this year :( Texas just doesn't have the amazing trees that we have in Tennessee. As all of you know the Warren County A&L Fair is going on right now and I am just beside myself that we are not there to bask in all its wonder. I don't know what it is about the fair but I think it is absolutely wonderful (If you are not from Warren County then you just won't understand.) And I know that if we had put Madison in the baby show, she would win hands down :)
I had to post this picture because this is my favorite decoration this year. I am trying to repurpose everything these days (and get in tune with my crafty side) and we have this oranment hanger that we got a few years ago for Christmas deco. I knew that I had to put it out for Fall this year but wasnt sure what to put on it.... then Madison and I found these acorn bells at Hobby Lobby and I KNEW they were perfect. Thus... the Acorn Tree.

Crazy for Polka Dots

It has been raining all weekend here! I know that we desperately need it; however, it is very hard keeping Madison and Rocky inside! The weather has also changed a bit with the rain and it has gotten cooler!!!! Maybe it will stay that way (pray for this :) I wanted to make Madison something that was going to be appropriate for cool weather so I whipped this up while she was napping. I LOVE polka dots and I think this is super cute! There would be a picture of her in it but... my model is not cooperating these days! Maybe she is holding out for more toys :)

I am thinking about doing some Christmas ones so let me know if anyone is interested in them! I can do any combo on either jeans or stretchy pants.

Onesie Refassion

Thanks to the wonderful tutorial at My Mama Made It , I was able to turn a boring Onesie into a super cute dress for baby Taelor Ray :) Tori told me about seeing one in a shop and said how cute it was. Well.... I can make that! I hope that she likes it and Taelor will look like a doll in it!

Dresses for Lizzy

Over the weekend I made these 2 darling dresses for brand new Lizzy! As I was making them I could not help but think back to when Madison was brand new... That sweet baby smell and everything Pink! I wish them the best of luck and hope they savor every minute of it because it goes so fast!

I made a matching hairbow for the dresses.
I hope they enjoy them!

Loving my Life

It is amazing how the simple things in life complete you... I get to spend everyday looking at that sweet face and hearing that adorable giggle. I took this today while we were playing outside. It sums up the relationship that Madison and Rocky have, he tries to smell her and she tries to pull his ears off. I love and cherish each moment that I get to spend with Madison. Everything is a new discovery, a great adventure. I wish that we could all find as much joy in the most simple things as children do.

I am working on a few dresses and will post pictures soon on what I have been up to.

But for now...
